The Q&A session for the Beta Awards 2026 has ended!

You may submit multiple different works in the same category or different works across different categories.
The same work may not be submitted in more than one category, except for the cases where different fields of intervention can be clearly distinguished and belong to different authors (for example, a single-family house submitted in the Built Space category may not also be submitted in the Interior Space category if both were designed by the same author or team). If a work is submitted in multiple categories, the organizers reserve the right to decide its classification, including whether it remains in all submitted categories or is excluded from one or more of them.
In the Text category, we are looking for works that engage with the theme of the current edition, 'In Practice – as opposed to ‘in theory’.' If a text has already been published, it may still be submitted, provided that it meaningfully responds to this year’s Biennale theme.
In the 'In Theory' category, projects with an uncertain future that have not yet been realized are also eligible for submission. The accepted time frame for this category is broader than for the other categories, covering projects developed between 2016 and 2026.
If the project is located within the DKMT Euroregion, including Timișoara, it is eligible for submission, and you may participate in the competition.
The uploaded images may either be landscape or portrait; however, we recommend using landscape orientation whenever possible. Whichever format you choose, we also recommend that all three photographs in the series use the same orientation, if possible.
The eligibility criteria for the Timișoara Architecture Biennial – Beta 2026 are as follows: the author must have permanent residence in the DKMT Euroregion, the project must be located within the euroregion, or the author must have graduated from a specialized higher education institution in the euroregion. If you are currently studying at a university outside the DKMT Euroregion, you may submit projects only if they are located within the DKMT Euroregion.
If the project is implemented and completed between July 2024 and July 2026, you may submit it to the 'Interior Space' category. If any eligibility or classification issues arise, the organizers reserve the right to reassign the project to a more appropriate category.
