Participants may submit works created within the two years preceding the launch of the competition (completed projects, proposals, or projects that interpret the role of architecture, including texts or photographs addressing the Biennale’s overarching theme, In Practice – as opposed to 'in theory', in the following competition categories:

Built space

Promotes residential and non-residential architectural projects that improve functional, aesthetic, and social standards in the environments where they are built.

Interior space

Promotes permanent or temporary interior architecture that combines functionality with creativity, enhancing the quality and experience of private or public/semi-public interior spaces.

Public space

Promotes urban or landscape design that improves the quality of life in public spaces.

Graduation projects

Encourages graduates to present their final academic projects, demonstrating their approach to the challenges of the profession.

Endeavours

Provides a platform for experimental and visionary projects that push the boundaries of architecture and explore future possibilities.

Text

Invites critical and theoretical discussions on architecture, highlighting the influence of written analysis on architectural practice and education.

Photography

Captures the essence of architecture through photography, highlighting how visual storytelling can document and celebrate the built environment.
