Gabriel Amza is a Romanian artist, journalist, and photojournalist whose practice bridges feature writing, long-term documentary projects, and interdisciplinary installations. Armed with an MA in Photojournalism from Mittuniversitetet, Sweden, and a Bachelor's in Journalism from UVT, Romania, Gabriel approaches his work with a humanist lens—driven by empathy, curiosity, and an exploration of languages and forms ranging from the ancient to the cyberpunk of imagined futures. A founding member of Timișoara's Misc. Arts Center and active community organizer with Pedallez, Gabriel is also part of the Geheimnisvoll Art Collective. His collaborations span NPR, La Croix, Blue Link, Vice, RAI 3, The Bridge of Friendship, and beyond.

Five millennia of habitation packed into a narrow Carpathian valley. Roman baths, Austro-Hungarian facades, Soviet-era hotels — all still standing, most rotting, some getting better. The space holds a thick layering of human intervention. ''Unpracticed Space'' unites these layers: Water, death, fiction, nature, gateways and borders. Spaces fold into themselves. Buildings mirror buildings. You can't quite tell what you're looking at, if you pay close attention. The work is about what happens when public space stops making sense. Nonsense transforming into the strange discomfort of standing in a place that refuses to resolve into a coherent picture.
