In this subcategory, we aim to promote projects that show creative use of materials, space optimization, and innovative design solutions that improve the quality of private and semi-public life.

Participating in this category provides designers with a platform to showcase their ability to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary places, emphasizing the integration of design with user well-being.

The competition is open across the DKMT Euroregion, which includes the Western Region of Romania, as well as regions in Hungary and Serbia, for projects completed between July 2024 and July 2026.

Eligible projects in this subcategory include permanent interior design projects in buildings such as:

  • residential buildings
  • commercial, office, and mixed-use buildings;
  • intended for services — hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, wellness facilities, and recreational buildings;
  • institutional — public or public-interest institutions that fall within the following fields: socio-cultural (education, healthcare, social assistance, sports and youth), national defense (military units, specialized educational units), public order (police units, fire departments), public authority (central public administration institutions, local institutions such as town halls, prefectures, judicial institutions), tourism (tourist information centers, tourism institutions), and other fields (environmental protection institutions, water management institutions, and specialized research institutions);
  • culturale - biblioteci, muzee, teatre, cinematografe, biserici;
  • industrial.

Who can participate in this category?

Eligible participants in this category are professionals from fields such as architecture, interior architecture, design, furniture design, decorative arts, scenography, and lighting, holding diplomas or certifications recognized in their countries of origin and by relevant professional organizations. They must have the right to practice in accordance with the legislation in the country where they carry out their profession, as well as teams coordinated by them.

Projects may be submitted either if they are located within the DKMT Euroregion, or if they belong to authors who have a permanent residence or who have completed their studies at a specialized university in this region.

The DKMT Euroregion is a European cross-border cooperation region (DKMT referring to the territory between the Danube–Criș–Mureș–Tisa rivers) which currently includes the counties of Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Arad, and Hunedoara in Romania, the counties of Csongrád and Bács-Kiskun in Hungary, and the province of Vojvodina in Serbia.
