Text presentation of the author in English

Architecture is, without any doubt, linked to photography, and my passion for the latter has gradually grown, becoming a common means of capturing the unusual and various places discovered through many journeys. Active in both professional practice and education, the built space is a major subject of my own photographs, through its variety and quality. Any trip – shorter (a scientific conference, a trade fair, a sports competition) or longer (a winter or summer vacation, a student traineeship, a world exhibition) – to a new location represents for me an opportunity to encounter architecture from other areas or cultures, immortalizing both constructive innovations and traditional techniques.

Project description in English.

A helical, all-wood structure is found in the center of Lausanne, becoming a well-known tourist landmark in the last 20 years (Sauvabelin Tower). What makes it special is the separation of the ascent and descent by the ingenious arrangement around a vertical axis of the same 151 steps. These are actually massive wooden elements brought from local forests, with metal plates of provenance being applied to each riser. The platform at the top offers a 360-degree panorama of the city, Lake Geneva and the Alps.
