This subcategory focuses on public, semi-public, or private architectural projects intended for a diverse range of users, including offices, cultural, administrative, and industrial buildings, as well as buildings intended for services, commerce, tourism, sports, or leisure activities. In this subcategory, architects who are authorized to practice in the country where they reside and who have completed projects between July 2024 and July 2026 may participate with their works.

In this subcategory, projects will be divided into newly built projects and interventions on existing buildings.

Newly built buildings completed between July 2024 and July 2026 may be submitted, in fields such as commercial, services, institutional, cultural, and industrial.

Heritage projects or interventions on existing buildings, with or without heritage value, may be submitted in fields such as residential, commercial, services, institutional, cultural, and industrial.

What projects can be submitted in this subcategory?

The following types of buildings may be submitted:

  • commercial, office, mixed-use, and industrial buildings;
  • hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, wellness facilities, and recreational buildings;
  • socio-cultural (education, healthcare, social assistance, sports, and youth);
  • national defense (military units, specialized educational units);
  • public order (police units, fire departments);
  • public authority (central public administration institutions, local institutions such as town halls, prefectures, and judicial institutions);
  • tourism (tourist information centers / tourism institutions);
  • other fields (environmental protection institutions, water management institutions, and specialized research institutions);
  • libraries, museums, theaters, cinemas, churches;
  • restoration, rehabilitation, extension.

Projects must have been completed within the past two years (July 2024 – July 2026).

Who can participate in this category?

Architects or architectural engineers who have the right to practice in accordance with the legislation in the country where they carry out their profession, as well as teams coordinated by them, may participate in this category. If the project is not located within the DKMT Euroregion, the main author of the project must have their residence or have graduated from a specialized university in this region.

The DKMT Euroregion is a European cross-border cooperation region (DKMT referring to the territory between the Danube–Criș–Mureș–Tisa rivers) which currently includes the counties of Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Arad, and Hunedoara in Romania, the counties of Csongrád and Bács-Kiskun in Hungary, and the province of Vojvodina in Serbia.
