Centrul ecvestru Turulung-Vii

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in Timișoara, and my academic path has been complemented by international mobility experiences, workshops, competitions and internships in several architecture studios. I am particularly interested in how a project can grow from the character of a place and respond naturally to its context without dominating it. I am drawn to the relationship between architecture and landscape, materiality, intermediate spaces and the way interior and exterior can work together. I enjoy following a project from the first idea and sketches through to its final resolution, while maintaining a clear and coherent direction. Taking part in workshops and architecture competitions, both individually and as part of a team, has given me the opportunity to explore different contexts and ways of working. These interests are also reflected in my diploma project, “Turulung-Vii Equestrian Centre”, conceived as a discreet architecture closely connected to the terrain, vegetation and rural landscape of the place.

Turulung-Vii Equestrian Centre starts from the idea that the landscape should remain the main element, while architecture follows the logic of the place. The ensemble connects equestrian activities, accommodation and rural experience through low, fragmented volumes arranged along the terrain slope to reduce visual impact and separate public, technical and equestrian flows. The glulam and CLT structure reflects the natural character of the site and allows large spans, with reinforced concrete used only where necessary. Timber and weathering steel, chosen for tones that echo the landscape, create a warm material palette. The green roof physically extends the existing vegetation over the functions, using local plants both on the roof and between the volumes. It links the buildings through a protected route, maintains constant contact with the outdoors and integrates the architecture into a continuous landscape. The result is an intervention shaped by the specific character of the site.
